We're a lot of ice and so much more! Canlan Ice Sports - York is the heart of hockey for the GTA. We are conveniently located east of the 400 and just south of the 407 on the York University campus at 989 Murray Ross Parkway. Our facility houses 6 ice rinks all under one roof, with two (2) meeting & conference rooms, an upstairs restaurant, Thirsty Penguin Grillhouse and a full service pro-shop, The Hockey Store. Our 1,200 seat, Olympic (200’ x 100’) sized rink has played host to Team Canada’s National Junior and World Championship Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams and is the proud home of the York University Men’s Varsity & Women’s Varsity teams, along with the Villanova Knights of the OPJHL. Our other five rinks are NHL sized at 200’ x 85’. Each rink features 4 spacious dressing rooms and 2 large benches that give you enough room to spread out! Three of the six rinks (Rink A, E and F) can be viewed from the comfort of the Thirsty Penguin Grillhouse.
The Hockey Store carries a wide selection of top quality hockey gear to satisfy your basic needs. From traditional one-piece wood sticks to the highly revolutionized one piece composite sticks, shafts and replacement blades, you're sure to find what you're looking for! Plus, we also offer several other valuable services including on-site skate sharpening, contouring and repair. We provide customize team apparel purchase options to complete your team look. We've got you covered from head to toe!
Before, during or after the game, come upstairs and visit us at the Thirsty Penguin Grillhouse! As our guest, we welcome you to come up and watch the game or simply relax in our warm & comfortable viewing area overlooking the rinks. Our fully licensed restaurant features over 30 TV’s with professional sound systems so you can catch all the action! Our friendly and professional staff will inform you of our specials & promotions and let you know all that is happening in our restaurant.
